Composite structure

Wood and metals can be processed to serve specific functions, but only to a very modest degree. Composites are different. With great accuracy, a composite structure can be customized to meet the requirements set for a specific function, product or system.

Composites are a combination of a matrix – often a plastic material – and a core of reinforcing fibres. The latter are often carbon or glass fibre, adding strength and stability while keeping the weight at a minimal level.

To balance the components of a fibre material into full harmony with the functions it shall serve is an act of true craftsmanship. It calls for a type of intuition reached by long experience only. TBS is proud to work in this tradition.
